Movie Nights off to a Great Start!
Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (September 17, 2004)

The Canada Japan Society of Toronto had a very successful start to our new "Windows on Culture" movie series. Our first film "Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters" was a fictionalized account in four segments of the life of Japan's celebrated twentieth century author Yukio Mishima. It was well received at Cannes in 1985 where it won a special award for Best Artistic Contribution, and was equally well received by our audience. A special reception after the film, celebrating our inaugural event, including sushi and refreshments was also well received!

Film nights will continue the third Friday of every month. If there is a film that you would like us to screen and that would be appropriate for our theme of bridging understanding between Canadian and Japanese cultures then please let us know.
